Important Information
The IL State Tournament will follow the same format as the Illinois regionals.
Please review ALL clarifications and Frequently asked Questions (FAQ) on the NSO website. Once you have done that, please review the ILLINOIS clarifications for the events (below). In any case where a National and Illinois clarification conflict, the Illinois clarification will be used.

What is Arbitration?
Arbitration is the process of taking an issue raised by a coach or supervisor and finding a resolution that is fair, following the rules of the tournament, in the spirit of the competition, and of which will NOT cause an unfair advantage for a team. APPEAL FORM

- National Anthem: If you have any experienced National Anthem singers on your team please complete the National Anthem form by Wednesday, April 15th at 8 pm.
- Team Demographic Information: Please complete the survey on or before March 24th.
- ARMORY ceiling height 98 feet at center of the arch, there are girders in the ceiling.

If your team is participating in the Illinois Science Olympiad State Tournament, your coach has received an email with a bid to compete and information regarding the tournament.
In order to participate, your team’s coach will need to report to the tournament headquarters (Huff room 114) on the Friday 4/17/26 or Saturday 4/18/2026 during the times indicated below to submit all required paperwork fully completed and signed by the team coach and school principal to attest that all information is correct. Your coach will receive wristbands for student competitors and additional information at this time.

Friday, April 17th, 2026 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm and 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm.

Late
Saturday, April 18th, 2026 at 6:30 am.
- Registration form (must be signed by the principal)
- Alternate Registration form (can bring a maximum of 10 alternates)
- Participant Release form
- Medical form (you can use the same form that you used for the regional tournament; this must be shown but will not be collected)
- Volunteers – More information will be coming in a separate email regarding team volunteers. All teams are required to have an adult volunteer for one 4 hour time slot in a NON BUILDING event. All volunteers will sign up through our volunteer website (coming soon) and that information will come to you in a separate email.
- Don’t forget to complete your demographic survey on or before March 24th, 2026
The Armory will be available for test your helicopters on FRIDAY April 17, 2026 from 5:30 PM until 9:00 PM. Per National Science Olympiad rules, no other event testing is available outside of this window.

- Bus parking for teams will be at the State Farm Center (Assembly Hall)
- This is the official list of free parking on weekends, but most lots are free on weekends excluding a few meter lots and housing lots. Weekday and Overnight | Parking Services (illinois.edu).
- The free lots closest to the quad are be D5, D1, C9, and C5.
- Parking is available from 5:00 pm Friday through Saturday evening in most University of Illinois parking lots labeled “Monday through Friday.” Parking is NOT permitted in any University lot or specific parking spaces marked “rented 24 hours, 7 days a week.” NOTE: Street parking meters supplied by the cities of Champaign and Urbana are not considered University parking and will be strictly enforced on Saturday.
- Hospitality rooms around campus for coaches, event supervisors and our volunteers only. It is not for competitors or parents who are not volunteering.
