Discovery Education 3M Young Scientist Challenge 2014

YSC Logo NewFor the sixth year, Science Olympiad’s partner, Discovery Education, would like to invite your Division B teams to submit science-related videos in the Discovery Education 3M Young Scientist Challenge (YSC)! The top award is $25,000, plus trips (to Costa Rica!) and other cool benefits, like a special prize pack for any Science Olympiad finalists. In past years, Science Olympiad has qualified more than 33 semifinalists and 15 finalists in the YSC (who each won $1,000, trips and prizes). Last year’s overall winner, Peyton Robertson from Florida, was a Science Olympiad alumnus!

Attached are 1) a letter describing the contest 2) a contest overview and 3) a nominating certificate to give to students (anyone in Grades 5-8 can enter but it's a nice motivator!) 4) logo. You can find the same information posted here:

Topics are wide-ranging and align with preparation for many Science Olympiad Division B events. If you have any questions, please call!
