Important Dates
  • Coaches' and Event Supervisors' Meeting - January 8 at 6:00pm in L-111

Forms due BEFORE the Tournament:

Forms due AT TOURNAMENT REGISTRATION (will be posted below):
  • Final Roster for Varsity team:  (One for each varsity team) Final roster form for your team.  Please complete one roster for the varsity team and have your principal sign the form.
  • Final Roster for JV team:  (One for each JV team) Final roster form for your team.  Please complete one roster for the JV team (if applicable) and have your principal sign the form.
  • Media and Participation Release:  (One for each participant) Release form including sections for media and participation
  • Medical Release:  (One for each participant) Release for medical purposes
To expedite the registration process on the morning of the tournament, you may opt to scan and email your team roster(s) and media/participation release forms to Amy Nicely by 5pm on Thursday, March 5. Using this option would require you to bring only the medical release forms to the registration table when you pick up your team packet.

Conflict blocks:
*Conflict blocks are groups of events that will take place at the same time during the tournament.
*Students will only be able to participate in 1 event in each block (except for Self Schedule events, which will be offered at a variety of times throughout the day and are scheduled separately).

All teams, event supervisors, and volunteers will register at tournament headquarters, outside room X212.

Team Registration Process
TEAM ROSTERS/FORMS
EACH team member must have a medical release, and a media release permission form, and coaches must provide a roster for each team competing (varsity and JV). A Principal's signature is required at the bottom of each roster submitted.​ Please alphabetize your forms and divide them into 2 separate piles - one for Medical Release Forms and one for Media Release Forms. We will be checking these against your team roster(s). To expedite the registration process on the morning of the tournament, you may opt to scan and email your team roster(s) and media/participation release forms to Amy Nicely by 5pm on Thursday, March 5. Using this option would require you to bring only the medical release forms to the registration table when you pick up your team packet.

​​WRISTBANDS
As you check in, our volunteers will count out the designated amount of wristbands for your team. Please do not leave the registration table until you do this. Students without wristbands will not be admitted to their events. Please read the Wristband directives that you will find in your registration packet at check-in.

HOMEROOMS
Homeroom numbers will be listed on your registration packet. Please do not switch homerooms as we will need to know where everyone is should any issues arise throughout the day.

Impound Times
All impounds will take place during the hour immediately preceding the event. Impound times are indicated on the tournament event schedule.

Headquarters/Hospitality/Scoring/Arbitration
Tournament headquarters is located outside room X-212.
Scoring and Arbitration are located in X-212.
Coaches, event supervisors, and volunteers are welcome to join us for hospitality throughout the day in L-217.

Food for Students
No food will be available on-site for purchase except snacks in the vending machines. Teams will either need to bring their own lunches or plan to order pizza or other food for delivery.

Awards Ceremony
Division B awards will begin at approximately 3:15pm (location: Miner Theatre).
Division C awards will begin at approximately 4:00pm  (location: Gym).

Volunteers!

If you are interested in volunteering at the Tournament, please contact Amy Nicely at amy.nicely@illinoisolympiad.org or sign up using the SignUp.com button below (coming February 2020).

All volunteers are asked to report to tournament headquarters outside room X-212 to sign in. To expedite the check-in process, please bring a signed copy of the volunteer agreement form with you.

Policies

Parkland is an open and unsecured campus.  Anyone can come and go on campus.  Coaches need to keep an eye on their students.  Students should NOT go wandering off by themselves.

Personal Belongings
Please ask students to leave all personal belongings in the homeroom. Students who bring personal belongings to an event will be asked to place all belongings at the front (or back) of the event room.

NOTE ON CELLPHONES: Cellphones MUST be turned off and put inside a personal belonging that is left at the front (or back) of the room. Phones may NOT be kept on a student during an event. Students found with cellphones may be asked to leave the event.
