Welcome Illinois Science Olympiad
Science Olympiad is a co-curricular educational program that strives to ignite the passion for science, medicine, and engineering in young minds. With an unwavering commitment to fostering curiosity and critical thinking, it aims to nurture the potential of future scientists, health professionals, and engineers, shaping a brighter tomorrow.
Registrations will begin in August 15, 2025 for the 2025-2026 Season.

Congratulations to Hamza Amara from Naperville Central High School. Hamza is one of five SO USA Foundation proudly receiving the 2025 Founders’ Scholarship. Each exceptional student was honored for their academic excellence, community engagement, and participation in Science Olympiad, receiving $10,000 tuition scholarships. Congratulations to all! State Tournament

Illinois Individual State Tournament (IIST) Division C
The IIST is for Division C students who earned a medal at their Regional Tournament but whose team did not earn a bid to state. Shortly after each Regional Tournament, the coaches whose teams did not earn a bid to state will receive an email if they had any students who earned a Regional Medal. This email will outline the IIST and inform the coaches in which events their team may enter students.

CTE Perkins V Funds for Your Team
Did you know? Illinois is the first state in the nation to approve Science Olympiad as a Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO), joining the ranks of other well-known skill development organizations, and making some team expenses eligible for Perkins V Federal funding. Perkins V provides funding to middle schools, high schools, and community colleges that have established Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs.
School may use their Perkins funds to pay for Science Olympiad registration, supplies, and any other related expenses.
